Managerial Skills
This package is designed to fulfill the objective of creating a framework for performance measurement. It will help participants to figure out their role in an organization, resolve or manage conflict in the workplace. It will help the participants in team formation, discusses and highlights the roles of managers and team members.
The Bizvantage training module also emphasizes the importance of feedback, review and the constant challenges leadership and decision making. It provides the participants with insights into the structure and techniques of decision making thus improving the chances of success.
The course will help participants resolve real-life situations in a class-room environment and carry out a self analysis of their current conflict management style. The tools used are simulations, role-playing and practical models.
Role Clarity: It is often seen that considerable time and effort is wasted in organizations because employees are not clear about the role they are expected to perform. This module helps the participants to clearly understand their own role and also the roles of positions above and below them. The critical responsibilities for each role are also discussed. This creates an objective framework for performance measurement.
Coaching Skills: This module helps participants understand the attributes and techniques for being an effective coach. The difference between coaching, training, counselling and mentoring is also discussed. Participants also get to practice the steps of effective coaching in class room situations.
Feedback and Review: The process for continuous growth and development cannot be accomplished without Feedback and Review. Unfortunately many managers shy from this responsibility especially when they have to give constructive feedback. This module helps the participants to learn the knowhow of effective feedback and review.
Conflict Management:Conflict at workplace results because of differences in "task" or "relationship". This module uses simulations and helps participants to understand different styles that can be applied to resolve conflicts. It also helps participants to do a self analysis of their current conflict management style.
Leading Teams: When we put a number of individual contributors together to form a team, often the output is not enhanced. This module explains the stages involved in a team formation and discusses the role of a manager and its team members. It also forms an Ideal module for combining experiential activities in the outdoors to experience live challenges.
Decision Making: A manager is continuously challenged to take decisions. The success or failure of a manager is often seen by others in hindsight when the results of those decisions become visible. This module helps a manager with the concept and techniques for structured decision making thus improving the chances of success.
Managing Meetings:Most employees in any organization today spend a considerable amount of time in meetings: face-to-face or telephonic. Often you hear participants complaining about how many meetings they have to attend and how little is accomplished in any meeting. This module makes the participants understand the structure of conducting a meaningful meeting. It also helps them in understanding the role they need to play: as a leader of the meeting or a follower.
Change Management: The entire business world is moving through a significant change. Managers who are not prepared to proactively drive the change, often end up causing hurdles in the organization's growth path. This module explains the reasons why change fails in many cases? Subsequently participants are provided with practical models to help them drive change better in their areas.
